Alternate Bases Information

There is an additional cost for supplying our yachts at the alternate bases. We will quote you a price for this service depending on where you wish to depart and end your cruise, and whether you are booking a sailing yacht or motor yacht.

Corfu

The base is located at the Govia Marina 6km from the main town on Corfu Island. There are many flights available directly from Europe, and many ferries operating in and out of the main Port. Corfu is a great point of departure or ending point for a cruise in the Ionian Sea. For those who prefer lighter wind conditions and more smooth sailing, or motor cruising, the Ionian Sea is a wise choice.

Lefkas

The base is located at the marina in the town of Lefkas on the island of Lefkas, that lies more or less in the middle of the Ionian Sea cruising ground. Using this base provides more options for cruising either north or south in the Ionian Sea. Lefkada can be reached by air service from Athens three times per week – usually in the summer on Friday, Sunday and Wednesday. There is also bus service from Athens three time a day that is a very scenic ride through the north-east countryside of Athens, across the Corinth Canal, along the Gulf of Corinth, across the magnificent Rio Antirio Bridge, and then on to Lefkada. The trip takes approximately 6 hours that includes a refreshment and convenience stop half way through the journey.

Lavrio

Port Lavrio is a small port on the southeast end of greater Athens. Lavrio can be reached by taxi in less than half an hour from Athens International Airport. This base offers three options depending on the weather. One can choose to go north into the Sporades Islands, east to the Cyclades, or south to the Saronic Gulf, and in particular the islands of Hydra and Spetses.

Skiathos

This base is ideally suited to those that want to cruise in the Sporades Islands. There are flights from Europe directly to Skiathos Island, and it can also be reached by ferry service from Athens. Our base is in the main port adjacent to the ferry terminal. The Sporades Island cruising area generally has a mix of moderate weather and occasionally some stronger wind.

The base is located in the Port of Paros on Paros Island. This is a great departure point for those that want to cruise in the central Aegean Sea. Using this base will maximize your cruising time in the Cyclades Islands. There is air service from Athens to Paros, and there are many ferries running between Athens and Paros and the other islands. The high speed ferry takes less than four hours. For those that enjoy stronger sailing conditions, the central Aegean Sea can provide some thrilling times with plenty of action.

Kos

Kos Island is located in the Dodecanese group. The base is in the Kos Marina, 2km east of the main Port. Kos Marina is one of the finest marina facilities in the Greek Isles. There are direct flights from Europe, and various major ferries from Athens. Kos is approximately in the middle of the Dodecanese Islands and very close to the west coast of Turkey. The weather patterns in the Dodecanese Islands is generally a mix of moderate and windy conditions, but because the cruising area is so close to Turkey there are many options for getting into sheltered areas.

Rhodes

The base is located in the Port of Rhodes which is on the north-east end of the island. This is a good location for cruising the coast of Turkey, and Simi Island, one of the more forested and picturesque Greek islands in the southern Dodecanese. This island is a wonderful island for sailing around, and also exploring the archeological sites by renting a car or scooter.
